Letter from the AOCWNA President
Dear St. Ignatius Sisters in Christ, I want to inform you of a decision made by the North American Board of AOCWNA (this is the national arm of our women's organization in the Antiochian Orthodox Church in North America). With Metropolitan PHILIP'S blessing, we will now refer to ourselves as the Antiochian Women (rather than AOCWNA) in all legal, formal documents. I hope that if you have not already made plans to attend the 2005 Fall Retreat on October 28-30 that you will seriously and prayerfully consider joining us. We have one additional room to accommodate those of you who could not commit earlier. We want as many of you as possible to attend! We are privileged to have Mother Melania from California as our guest speaker. Her topic for the retreat is Virtues, Passions, and the Healing of the Soul. Our retreat committee (Nina Washburn, Kathy McCollum, and Alicia Meese) has been working diligently to prepare a retreat which will bless all our souls as well as provide time for fellowship with each other. Our Calendar of Feasts and Special Events has been completed and we are now ready for the ladies to sign up to take a turn doing set-up and clean-up for our various events. If each of the ladies who have been attending our recent Antiochian Women meetings (about 70) will sign up onONE event, we will have the calendar filled! Please take the time to sign the list which is posted on the Antiochian Women's bulletin board in the parish hall. Following is a list of the new coordinators for the various Antiochian Women committees:
